September 30th

I left JR Shinjuku South Exit and arrived at Shinjuku Gyoen in about 10 minutes on foot. This year, running is only allowed between 7 and 9 a.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. However, the period only runs from July 1st to September 30th, so today is the last day to run.

You will be admitted by paying an admission fee of 500 yen. The coin locker was to the right as soon as you entered the entrance.

(Quoted from the Ministry of the Environment website) The area where running is possible is only the red line.

Let’s start running!

There are big trees along the way…

There is a large lawn area and your heart will also be refreshed.

Early in the morning, the park is very quiet. It’s hard to think of the city center as being in the middle.

I could see skyscrapers in the distance.

I ran a lap around the park. There were not as many runners as I thought. Is it because it’s not very well known?
We take a further walk in the park. Running is only allowed on outlying courses, and jogging is prohibited on other courses.

There is a Japanese garden…

There is a large lawn square…

There were also a few restaurants.

It’s a holiday that leaves you feeling refreshed!
It is limited to Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays from July to September, but we sincerely hope to open it to runners next year. Because it was not a running course, there were no distance signs, but the course was neatly laid out and easy to run.
