Meiji Jingu Gaien Jogging Course Introduction 2023

September 30th

Today, we will introduce the Meiji Jingu Gaien jogging course located right next to the National Stadium in Tokyo. The Meiji Jingu Gaien jogging trail is within a 10-minute walk from JR Sendagaya Station, Shinanomachi Station, or National Stadium Station on the Toei Oedo Line or Gaien-mae Station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line.

Today I go to the jogging course from Sendagaya Station.

When you come out of the station ticket gate, you will see the Tokyo Gymnasium in front of you. Take the road in front of Tokyo Gymnasium to the left.

After walking for a few minutes, you will see the National Stadium on your right.

Go straight further and pass in front of the National Stadium Station on the Oedo Line, and you will see the National Stadium in front of you.

The Shingu Outer Park jogging course is located right next to the National Stadium. The course will be in the shape of an oval.

Cross the crosswalk and you will arrive at the course. This course is also called “Seko Road” because Seko, a famous marathon runner, used to run there for practice.

Moving counterclockwise for a while, there was a 0m mark on the course indicating the starting point. If you run one lap around the course, the distance is 1325m.

From the starting point, you can see the soccer and baseball fields, and the painting museum in the distance.

There were distance signs all over the course. I thought there were signs every 100m, but there were a few places where I couldn’t find any.

It’s close to a jogging course.

When I start going back to the jogging course…

At the end of the curve, you can see the National Stadium, and you have completed one lap. There were few pedestrians throughout the course, and I was able to jog stress-free. Also, there are distance marks and there is almost no elevation difference, so I think it is a course for point practice.

There are coin lockers at all nearby stations, so you don’t have to worry if you have luggage.
